Another lovely morning.lets make bath bombs.

Good morning everyone. This morning I  have been busy in the garden getting ready to have a fire to burn the garden rubbish. We really have a lot to burn. I have been trying to sort out the bits that will burn and the rest. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest but under our huge pile there is some really good compost but its full of twigs which I am trying to remove. Its hard work.
Later today I plan to make some bath bombs.

Lavender Bath Bombs

Lavender bath bombs are easy to make and can be used as gifts or purely to indulge yourself.
Because you are making these bath bombs yourself you can decide what shape you would like them to be either by using moulds such as heart shaped or simply rolling the mixture in your hands to form a ball.

So what do you need to make these fizzy little delights?

All you need is

1 teaspoon of dried lavender.
1 tablespoon of citric acid powder
3 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
5 drops of essential Lavender oil (you can use up to 10 drops if you want a stronger fragrance)
1 teaspoon of cornflower or soy oil.
I buy my dried lavender and essential oil from Wikaniko see the following links

Method
Take a clean, dry, glass bowl and with clean dry hands
Mix the citric acid and bicarbonate of soda together. Make sure there are no lumps.
Add all the other ingredients and mix together with a metal spoon.
Either take the mixture and squeeze it into small balls
Or press the mixture into moulds.
Leave overnight to allow the oil to evaporate.
The next day take the, now rock hard, bath bombs and store them in a dry atmosphere in foil.
Alternatively you can run a hot bath and using one of your home made bath bombs relax for the rest of the day.
Well have a good day and enjoy your bath bombs.
