A homemade and inexpensive remedy to lighten Lentiigo senilis commonly known as Liver or Old Age spots.
How to Lighten Liver /Age Spots Using a Homemade Remedy
Lentiigo senilis commonly known old age spots, liver spots or old age freckle are those light brown to red or black regular shaped marks which appear on our skin as we enter our later years. They are also associated with exposure to the sun, particularly in people who have fair skin. The spots are not harmful although any concerns regarding skin cancer should be checked out and not left.
Personally I have noticed that during the past year I have developed several of these spots on my hands and legs and whilst I am not particularly bothered by them I wondered whether there is any way to lighten the darker spots by using a homemade remedy.
Living in Spain we grow Aloe Vera and I am a great believer in the benefits of this versatile plant. The gel from the Aloe Vera plant is well known for easing the pain of burns whilst also assisting in the healing process. This soothing gel can also be used for numerous other ailments such as eczema, psoriasis and yes liver spots.
A month ago I decided to blend the gel from several Aloe Vera leaves and stored the juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Every morning I dabbed my brown liver spots with the gel and hey presto they are much lighter and now can hardly been seen.
