Lady Thatcher's funeral

Lady Thatcher was Prime Minister in Britain from 1979 to 1990. Today is her funeral which is being held in St Paul's in London. Lady Thatcher was very much a character who was loved or hated.  I leaned to wards the latter. To many Lady Thatcher saved the country but to me she brought about a me me environment with people looking after themselves and not caring for those less able.
Her funeral today has cost approximately 10 million pounds and I struggle with this when the UK is struggling financially and making cuts to survive.  I really don't understand why such a fuss is being made about her death particularly when the country is split in its views about her. The only other politician who has had such a funeral is Winston Churchill who the nation loved because of his motivational speeches during the war. However Lady Thatcher is a very different character. During her time as Prime Minister she caused great misery to many and destroyed many lives particularly in  small mining communities.
The police are preparing for protests during her funeral today. I have mixed views about this because it is not right in my view that a protest should take place during any funeral but I can understand why some people hold strong views about this woman.
I do not plan to watch the funeral but I have no doubt that it dominate television programmes throughout the day.
