How to combat head lice without chemicals

When I was a child I remember the 'nit nurse' coming to our school once a month. We children would be required to stand in a long queue waiting for her to examine our hair for head lice. We could usually recognise the children with 'nits' as we called them mainly because they were scratching their head and also when their parents were called to the school they left with a brown bag containing foul smelling head lice lotion. As children we always thought that nits were associated with dirt but this is not the case. Head lice just love clean hair.
The are many products on the market today that can be used to solve the problem but many contain chemicals. Below is a recipe for a natural head lice lotion which will help get rid of head lice..

Head lice lotion
Ingredients
20 tbsps 100g fresh rosemary leaves
100 gms fresh lavender
200 neem oil
200mls almond oil
6 garlic cloves
2 tbsp tea tree oil

Method
Strip the leaves from the lavender and rosemary stems
Mix the  almond oil and neem oil together
Crush the rosemary and lavender fleaves with a little of the oil
Put the mashed herbs in a pan
Add chopped garlic and  heat gently for 20 minutes
Strain the mixture through a sieve
Add  the tea tree oil
Apply the mixture to dry hair and cover with towel;
leave overnight or at least four hours
Wash hair with two applications of shampoo
Repeat the process after seven days.
